Abstract

In this work, a new modification strategy was reported to modify a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) based on ZnO/Al2O3 nanocomposite. This modified electrode was designed in order to be used as a sensitive and selective sensor towards detection of trace amount of dopamine (DA). The effective parameters on the optimal performances of the electrode such as pH of the test solution and the applied scan rate during the electrochemical process were also studied. This sensor responded linearly towards detection of dopamine within a wide range of 5.0x10(-6)-7.0x10(-4) M with a low detection limit of 2.0 x 10(-6) M (pH=7.0), under the optimum conditions. Moreover, the electrode functioned in the determination of dopamine in real samples was satisfactory.
