Abstract
In this study, novel PVA/Fe3O4@SiO2@CPS@SID@Ni magnetic fibrous composite polymer (PVA/MFCP nanostructures) according to the electrospinning method was synthesized. The structure of PVA/MFCP nanostructures by Scanning Electron Microscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, X-Ray Diffraction, Vibrating Sample Magnetometer, N-2 adsorption/desorption isotherms and thermal behavior were characterized. Results of the structure investigation showed that the synthesized compound was in the form of nanofibers with magnetic properties and high specific surface area. Anti-cancer properties of synthetic PVA/Fe3O4@SiO2@CPS@SID@Ni (MFCP) were evaluated by the MTT method on MCF-7 breast cancer cells, and IC50 119 mu g/ml was observed at 48 h. Antibacterial and antifungal properties of the synthesized PVA/MFCP nanostructures based on Minimum Inhibitory Concentration, Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC), and Minimum Fungicidal Concentration were tested. The MBC values for PVA/MFCP, between 8 and 256 mu g/ml were obtained. The results proved that the biological activity of PVA/MFCP nanostructures in some cases, has a better effect than commercial drugs.
